1. Who We Are

Hydra ("we", "us", "our") is a hydration tracking app built for Arabic-speaking users. This Privacy Policy explains what information Hydra accesses and how it is used when you use the Hydra mobile application.

2. Information We Collect

Information stored on your device only:

• Name (optional) — used to personalize your experience
• Body weight — used to calculate your daily hydration goal
• Age — used to refine your hydration goal
• Fasting schedule preferences — used to adjust reminder timing
• Water intake logs — your daily drinking history
• Language preference and app settings

Information collected in our cloud database (Supabase):

• Email address or phone number — optional, only if you choose to provide it
• Name, body weight, age, language, and daily goal — synced when you save your profile
• Device platform (iOS or Android)
• An anonymous device identifier (randomly generated, not linked to your identity)

Information accessed automatically (not stored by us):

• Location (GPS) — used only to fetch local weather and prayer times
• Apple Health / Google Health Connect data (steps, active calories, heart rate, workouts) — used only to personalize hydration recommendations, if you connect a health source in Settings

4. Data Storage & Security

Your daily water logs, weight, fasting settings, and most app data are stored exclusively on your device using local encrypted storage (AsyncStorage).

Optionally provided contact information (email/phone), along with your name, weight, age, language, and goal, are stored in a secure cloud database (Supabase, hosted on AWS in the EU region) with the following protections:

• Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+)
• Encrypted at rest (AES-256)
• Access restricted by row-level security policies
• Each user identified only by an anonymous device ID — not by name or email alone

5. Data Sharing

Your device communicates directly with the following third-party services:

None of these services receive your water intake logs or your full usage history.

6. Data Retention

• On-device data: Stored until you uninstall the app or reset it in Settings
• Cloud data (Supabase): Retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us

7. Your Rights & Control

• Access & correction: View or edit your profile anytime in Settings
• Deletion: Uninstalling the app deletes all on-device data. To delete cloud data, email obadah.mheidat@gmail.com
• Health data: Disconnect Apple Health / Google Health Connect anytime from your phone's system Settings
• Location: Disable location access anytime from your phone's Settings app
• Notifications: Disable anytime from your phone's Settings or within Hydra's Settings screen

8. Children's Privacy

Hydra is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately.

9. Push Notifications

Hydra schedules local notifications on your device for hydration reminders and prayer time alerts. These are generated entirely on-device — they are not sent from a remote server. You can disable them anytime from your phone's Settings app or within Hydra's Settings screen.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of Hydra after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We recommend checking this page periodically.

11. Applicable Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. For users in the European Union, we comply with GDPR principles, including the right to access, rectification, and erasure. For users in Saudi Arabia, UAE, and other GCC countries, we aim to comply with applicable local data protection regulations.
